On May 15-16, 2024, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will host the International Environmental Forum "Ecology and Peace" dedicated to solving environmental problems caused and continuing to be caused by full-scale Russian aggression.
Rising conflicts, violent extremism, terrorism and related humanitarian crises and the resulting displacement of people threaten to reverse much of the development progress achieved over recent decades.
The main point is peace. There can be no sustainable development without peace, and no peace without sustainable development.
Since the pivotal Stockholm Conference in 1972, the environment has been included in the sustainable development framework. All of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will stimulate actions in environment-related areas that are crucial for humanity and the planet.
Humanitarian demining of Ukrainian territory is one of the priority issues of this year's Forum.
